Welcome to the Pembury Village Website

Located near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, Pembury is an attractive village in the heart of South East England. Centred round the village green, the parish of Pembury maintains a rural character and includes large areas of woodland, agricultural land and many outlying farms. Home to over 6,000 residents, it retains a true village identity separate from neighbouring Royal Tunbridge Wells. Clubs, societies and organisations flourish for every age and interest and together support an active community life.

Shops are limited within the centre of the village, but there are thriving pubs and the usual services, including a bank and chemist, not to mention estate agents, takeaways, newsagent, post office and hairdressers. Complementing these is a huge number of businesses of every kind based in and around Pembury.

Historic buildings from the 1200s through to the twentieth century demonstrate Pembury’s long-term presence in the West Kent area. It may be even longer, as in January 2010, archaeologists found the remains of an Iron Age settlement. At the other end of the scale, a brand new district hospital is being built at the edge of the village on the site of the old workhouse.

To keep up with village life, read the Pembury Village News, published quarterly in full colour by Pembury Parish Council. Distributed to each of the 2300 households in the village, it contains news, information, reports and features submitted by people from around the village.

If you have an event, a project, or news item that you would like publicising on this website and it's relevant to the people of Pembury please contact us.
